Good to know

Questions,
answered.

Does every back or neck problem need surgery?

No. Many spine problems improve with medication, physiotherapy and lifestyle changes. Surgery is considered when symptoms persist, when there is progressive weakness or numbness, or when imaging shows significant nerve or spinal cord compression. Dr. Shinde will explain every option before recommending a procedure.

What is endoscopic (keyhole) spine surgery?

It is a minimally invasive technique where a thin endoscope and fine instruments are passed through a very small incision to treat the problem, aiming for less tissue disturbance and a quicker return to routine. Whether it is suitable depends on your condition and scans.

What should I bring to my first consultation?

Bring your MRI / CT / X-ray films and reports, previous prescriptions or discharge summaries, and a list of the medicines you take. A family member is welcome to join you.

When should I seek emergency care?

Sudden leg or arm weakness, loss of bladder or bowel control, numbness in the groin area, or severe pain after an injury need urgent attention. Go to the nearest emergency department immediately — Stellars Hospital offers 24/7 emergency services.
